Blackboy Hill Cycles offer two models of bike for hire – the City Runner and the Cycle Track. We usually have good availability during the week, but it is worth booking in advance for the weekend.

We provide locks, helmets and maps of local areas in Bristol, free of charge with every cycle hire.

Bikes need to be collected and returned to the shop on Whiteladies Road in Bristol, and a form of ID such as a driving licence or passport is needed as security against the hire of the bike.

City Runner

The best way to get round the bustling streets of Bristol. Hire the Specialized Crossroads. It has a premium lightweight Aluminium frame and Body Geometry Comfort grips and saddle. The crossroads is comfortable and handles like a dream.

Where to go on the City Runner... The Railway Path

The Railway Path begins in central Bristol and loops north towards Fishponds. The Path continues through Staple Hill Tunnel, which is lit from 5am to 8.30pm. The Path then emerges into South Gloucestershire passing through Mangotsfield, Warmley and Bitton. The last stretch traverses through the Bath & North East Somerset countryside, passing through Saltford before reaching Newbridge, in Bath. There is also a spur off the Path at Mangotsfield which follows the line of the old railway through Shortwood and up to Coxgrove Hill (just west of Pucklechurch).

Two national routes of the National Cycle Network use the Railway Path. Route 4, connecting South Wales with Reading and the south-east, uses the whole length of the Path. Route 3 takes in part of the the Path to Saltford before joining the Avon Cycleway.

Mountain Bike

Try hitting Ashton court's Timberland Trail on the Specialized HARDROCK. It combines practicality and performance to make quick work of rough terrain, and 75mm of travel in the forks will help smooth those bumps.

Where to go on the Cycle Track... The Avon Timberland Trail

The Avon Timberland Trail is the first official mountain bike trail in the Forest of Avon built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. The first part of this signed route runs around the spectacular Ashton Court Estate where you can cycle through wonderful woodlands away from busy roads. The mountain bike trail in Ashton Court is a great place for youngsters or inexperienced riders to have a go on the rough tracks because the route is not too technical - A new 'figure of eight' link has recently been constructed and signed in Ashton Court to create a separate circuit in the Estate.
